One of the most common questions among humankind is “What is my purpose?” Actually, it is probably one of the most difficult questions to answer for most people. They feel pressured to have some “grand purpose” and tend to think about it in terms of a logical and analytical mind.
But what about our emotions? Are we really tapping into our core emotions to see what we really want out of life?
Throughout my life journey with encounters with many people, I’ve found that at the core of what most people truly desire is a feeling of peace. Sure, people say they want a good job to make good money so that they can do this or that, but behind all of that is their need to feel peace and security. If they feel at peace, they’ll be able to relax their minds more, spend more time with family and friends, and be more optimistic.
Humanity yearns for peace but tends to reach for it in ways that get them off the road to peace and on the road to anxiety and stress. In fact, we’re one of the most stressed out nations on the planet, but it doesn’t have to stay this way. You don’t have to live in a state of chaos, stress or fear.
What do you want?
Sit down and make a list of things you desire. What are the things in life you really want? Loving relationships? Financial independence? Great health? To retire early? More REI success?
Now ask yourself why you want those things. Is it because experiencing those things will assure you more inner peace? More joy? Freedom? Chances are the answer is yes.
In discussions with my real estate investing students, we talk a lot about goals and dreams. I encourage everyone to set short and long-term goals in every area of your life. There are plenty of people stressed out working jobs where they don’t make good money, over-working, and not even enjoying their work. What a pleasure it is to offer trainings for those who have a passion for REI and desire the security and peace that can come from getting out from under debt AND creating the kind of lifestyle they truly desire.
Creating financial independence
Creating financial freedom isn’t just about making good money. Don’t get me wrong. It IS about making serious money, but it’s also about creating abundance in your life so you can experience more peace and freedom. Who couldn’t use a bit more time freedom to enjoy with family and friends? This is something that can indeed be achieved using our Niche2Wealth strategy.
Finances and peace of mind are correlated. If you are not in a spot where you want to be in life, it’s time to make some changes. If you’re not experiencing the peace you desire or the financial independence you’re after, keep learning. Continue investing in yourself internally and externally. Really think about what you want out of life and set your goals to match. You’ll get there.
