Set a good time, considering when you need to be up in the morning, to hunker down and get some rest.

2. Get up early. Some of the most successful people in the world, according to Business Insider, get up early to start their day.

3. Exercise. If you’re wondering what you can do with your extra time in the morning, you need to consider exercise. Exercising not only keeps your fitness level up, but studies have shown time and time again that exercise reduces stress, makes you happier, and promotes better focus. All of which are tools of the trade to the successful individual.

4. Eat breakfast. The most important meal of the day kicks off your metabolism and gives you fuel to power through everything you need to accomplish. Try something with fiber for focus and yogurt for digestive health.

5. Stay calm. According to Forbes, a Yale study found that “prolonged stress causes degeneration in the area of the brain responsible for self-control.” That’s a tough nugget to swallow, but the most successful people are great at managing their emotions. Staying calm is significantly easier if you appreciate what you have, get a good night’s sleep, exercise, eat well, and take solace in a solid support network of friends, family, and colleagues.
